Newly-formed Cannabis Industry Council set out priorities for 2021

Stakeholders from the medical cannabis industry met last week at the inaugural meeting of the Cannabis Industry Council, to set out how they plan to create a more robust UK sector.

With more than 100 major organisations onboard, CIC aims to set new standards and drive meaningful change within the UK’s medical cannabis and CBD sector.

Aside from the 100+ members, the new Lobbying Subgroup - a part of the Cannabis Industry Council - which is chaired by Maple Tree Consultants Director, Will de Peyer, supports the wider aims and objectives of the CIC.

Wanting to ensure the sector is heard at the highest levels of Government, Will presented the group's priorities for 2021/22.

Professor Mike Barnes, founder and chair of the CIC said it was great to be “up and running” and that the response to the initial meeting indicated there was potential to make “real change” as a collective voice for the sector.
