Ananda Developments granted Home Office licence to grow cannabis

The Home Office has granted Ananda Development’s subsidiary, DJT Group, a licence to grow cannabis for research activities.

Maple Tree director, Prof Mike Barnes said,

“It is great to see that Ananda Development's quest for a high-THC growing license has been approved, despite delays due to Covid-19. With the licence secured, the company can now build its research facility and begin the work to breed and grow 65 cannabis strains with stabilised cannabinoids, which it hopes will make the plant easier to study.
